Frequently Asked Questions
What are air plants?
Air plants, also known as Tillandsia, are unique plants that don’t need soil to grow. They absorb water and nutrients through their leaves and can be displayed in all kinds of creative ways. Read this article to learn more.
Are air plants easy to care for?
Yes! Air plants are fairly low-maintenance as long as they get enough water, bright indirect light, and good airflow. Read our complete air plant care guide here.
How do I water my air plants?
Thoroughly wet all of the leaves once or twice a week, then gently shake off any excess water. Always let your air plant dry completely before placing it back in its display. For more detailed instructions, click here.
Do air plants flower?
Yes. Most air plants bloom once during their lifetime and may also change color as they prepare to flower. After blooming, many plants begin producing baby plants called pups.

Are air plants safe for cats and dogs?
Air plants are generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs. However, it’s still best to keep them out of reach since chewing can damage the plant.
Can air plants be grown outdoors?
Yes, air plants can grow outdoors in mild climates. Keep them in bright, filtered light and protect them from harsh afternoon sun, frost, and extreme heat.
How are air plants packaged for shipping?
Each air plant is carefully wrapped and packed to help protect it during shipping. Plants are shipped dry, which is normal and helps prevent rot while they are in transit.
What should I do when my air plants arrive?
Unpack your plants as soon as you can. Thoroughly water them and allow them to dry completely before placing them in a display.
What happens if my air plant arrives damaged or unhealthy?
We carefully inspect and package every plant before shipping and almost never have issues with damaged or unhealthy plants. In the rare event that this happens, contact us with a photo of the plant and we’ll be happy to help.
How quickly will my order ship?
Most orders ship within 1 to 2 business days. You’ll receive tracking information as soon as your order is on the way. Delivery times vary based on shipping destination.
Do you have a physical storefront?
We do not currently have a physical storefront. You can shop online anytime or visit us at select local markets and events in Southern California. View our upcoming events here.
